The truth about the Renault Clio

So it’s fair to say that Renaults sometimes get a bit of a bad reputation with people saying that the electrics very often go wrong and that they are unreliable and not very fun to drive but my personal opinion of them is somewhat different and here’s why:-

My second ever car was a 3 door Renault Clio, with electric windows, sunroof and wing mirror controls. It also had air con which for the age of the model I had was pretty good. I had the car for about 2 years and I have to say it was brilliant! The electrics never once let me down and the car, even when pushed, performed brilliantly allowing me to travel from Derby to Shropshire daily with no problems and a fair bit of power to drive comfortably on the motorway.

Its small compact size makes parking nice and easy and the visibility in it is very good for a small car. Being the 3 door version it wasn’t great to get kids in and out of but I did take my nieces in it a few times with no real problems.

I loved this car and for a young driver who wants a cheap run-around you’d struggle to get more for your money.
