Driving has very quickly become and expensive past time, with price of fuel, car repairs, serving and insurance going up it is no wonder that people are looking at ways in which they can reduce their motoring costs. Saving money on fuel is one of the quickest and easiest ways to reduce your outgoings for your vehicle. But not only do you need to show around for the best prices at the pump you may also need to change your driving style.

Driving at higher revs does use up more fuel which in turn will have you running to the pump more often. Driving an automatic means that the car will change gear for you as you accelerate or slow down but sometimes automatics can be a little slow off the mark and you may find that you are wasting fuel. It is always a good idea to keep an eye on your MPG and if you notice that it is falling, it may be time to investigate if something is wrong. Some cars do just use more fuel than others but it may be an indication that the DPF isn’t quite right or that your car is in desperate need of a good service.
