Driving at higher revs does use up more fuel which in turn will have you running to the pump more often. Driving an automatic means that the car will change gear for you as you accelerate or slow down but sometimes automatics can be a little slow off the mark and you may find that you are wasting fuel. It is always a good idea to keep an eye on your MPG and if you notice that it is falling, it may be time to investigate if something is wrong.
